You have a valid point there, Brian, but I wouldn’t say that “the US government has thrown away or disregarded most of the Constitution”. There is indeed an ongoing battle between those who would disregard the Constitution, and those who protect it. For the most part, those who want to disregard it would appear to be the “do-gooders” because they claim that a more active government can better push for “social justice” (whatever that means).

The idea of a benevolent government is a Trojan Horse because, in reality, no government can be truly benevolent, and even so, most people believe in the possibility of a benevolent government, falling prey to the idea of an all-powerful, active government that would look after the welfare of the “common good” (whatever the common good is).

The good news is that those who want to disregard the Constitution have not totally won. The US Constitution is still much in force. The recent success of the Republicans in seating Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is exhibit one on the side of the Constitutionalists. I would bet that this is also good news for cryptocurrencies …
